TIMELINE

1949 - Incorporated by owners Bennie Langham and George Poss.  David C. “DC” Hughes, Jr. was employed. 

1959 - D.C. Hughes purchases 100% of shares.  The company produces ready-mixed concrete, pre-cast concrete products and performs concrete contracting.

1978 - Mr. Hughes employs his son-in-law, Kenneth A. (Ken) Williams, to manage the company during his retirement. 

1989 - Acquires Thomson Concrete Ready-Mixed, Inc. also in Thomson from Henry Montgomery. 

1994 - Acquires Baston Concrete with plants in Washington and Lincolnton, Georgia.

2002 - Camak Plant is greenfielded.

2009 - Wins the GA DOT Quality Control Award for Ready-Mix Concrete Production.

2012 - Mr. Hughes passes. Ken Williams became President/CEO. 

2017 - Ken’s son, David Williams, joins the company as Vice-President.

2017 - Name is changed to Thomson Concrete Materials, Inc.

2019 - Becomes a licensed producer of Big Block, Inc. Produces precast retaining wall blocks sold across the Southeastern US.

2019 - Acquires WCMS Concrete’s Wrens, GA Operations. These expansions brought the total number of Georgia DOT Approved plants to five, which enables concrete service to 16 counties in Georgia and McCormick, SC.

2022 - Greenfields a new plant in Thomson.

2023 - Establishes new central headquarter at Mesena Road in Thomson, GA.
